Lodging in Ann Arbor

Detroit Metropolitan International Airport (DTW) is approximately 25 miles from Ann Arbor, which is generally a 45-minute drive under standard driving conditions. Current travel guidelines suggest arriving at least 2 hours before your flight! Major hubs are Delta, Spirit, and US Air.

The suggested hotel is the Larkspur Landing Hotel Ann Arbor. The hotel offers different options regarding rooms and suites. Within walking distance, there are several restaurants and grocery stores.

Transportation from DTW Airport

The suggested hotel is about 25 miles driving distance from the DTW airport, which is about 25-35 mins drive depending on the traffic. Please see the driving details by clicking HERE. There is also public transportation option, which can be found HERE.

Uber and Lyft from the DTW Airport to the hotel is about 25-35 mins, and the typical price is around $40-$60.
The Michigan Flyer fleet is one way to get to and from DTW. Prepaid fare is $15 one way/$25 round trip. Tickets purchased at the coach are $18. For questions, call 517-333-0400. The Ann Arbor Convention Visitor’s Bureau maintains a listing of airport shuttle options.

Hotel to the Workshop Venue

The hotel is only 2 miles away to the workshop venue. There is free campus bus (NES route), which may take around 25 mins and the bus is scheduled every 15 mins during working days. Please refer to the University of Michigan Transportation Services and explore more options.

Reception in the UM Museum of Art

Reception on Aug 5th (Monday, starting at 6:30 pm) will be served in the University of Michigan Museum of Art (UMMA). UMMA is one of the largest university art museums in the United States, with 94,000 sq ft (8,700 m^2). The university contains a comprehensive collection that represents more than 150 years of history, with over 20,000 works of art that span cultures, eras, and media.
