  • Focus: Power electronics development for 50W-500KW marine energy converters.

  • Requirements: Expertise in power electronics design and integration for marine applications.

Mechanical/Acoustic Metamaterials

  • Focus: Mitigation of pile driving vibrations on the seabed and hydroacoustic noise reduction in water environments.

  • Requirements: Background in mechanical/acoustic metamaterials and their application in marine environments.

Hydrodynamics or Dynamics for Marine Energy

  • Focus: Research on hydrodynamics and dynamics of marine energy systems.

  • Requirements: U.S. citizenship or a green card is required due to project funding constraints.

Control or Control Co-Design for Marine Energy

  • Focus: Advanced control strategies for marine energy systems, including control co-design approaches.

AI/ML for Marine Energy Environment

  • Focus: Application of AI/ML techniques to analyze and optimize the marine energy environment.

  • Requirements: A solid mathematical background.

  • Focus: Research on the design optimization and dynamic performance of small-scale marine energy converters.

  • Focus: Development of thermoelectric and magnetic materials through laser-based additive manufacturing, with a new project on re-manufacturing EV battery packages.
